The Nubra Valley Cycling Expedition is a thrilling combination of high-altitude adventure and Ladakhi culture.

Starting from Leh, this expedition takes you over Khardung La (18,380 ft) — the highest motorable road in the world — and descends into the mystical Nubra Valley, home to rivers, sand dunes, and double-humped camels.

It’s a journey where every pedal stroke offers a new landscape — monasteries, barren cliffs, turquoise rivers, and cold deserts.

Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival in Leh (3,500m)

Arrival at Leh. Acclimatization walk and expedition briefing.

Stay: Boutique hotel in Leh

Day 2 – Acclimatization Ride (Leh Loop – 25 km)

Gentle local ride to Shanti Stupa, Leh Palace, and Thiksey Monastery.

Stay: Leh

Day 3 – Leh to Khardung La (39 km | 5,602m)

Cycle to Khardung La Pass, one of the highest in the world.

Steady climb with vehicle backup and oxygen support.

Stay: Camp near North Pullu

Day 4 – Khardung La to Hunder (56 km | 3,048m)

Epic descent into Nubra Valley — dramatic scenery and sand dunes.

Evening at Hunder dunes, optional camel safari.

Stay: Camp in Hunder

Day 5 – Hunder to Turtuk (82 km | 3,000m)

Ride to Turtuk, India’s last village before the Indo–Pak border.

Explore Balti culture, apricot orchards, and local homes.

Stay: Homestay in Turtuk

Day 6 – Turtuk to Diskit (80 km)

Ride back to Diskit; visit Diskit Monastery and giant Buddha statue.

Stay: Boutique camp at Diskit

Day 7 – Diskit to Khardung Village (65 km)

Climb back toward Khardung; gradual ascent along river valley.

Stay: Camp in Khardung village

Day 8 – Khardung to Leh (45 km descent)

Return ride into Leh with grand views of Stok Kangri and Indus Valley.

Evening celebration dinner.

Day 9 – Departure from Leh

Transfer to airport. Expedition ends with certificate ceremony.
